RTHK Radio 2 is a broadcast radio station in Hong Kong, China, providing Youth Entertainment and Cantopop music. RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong 香港電台) is a public broadcasting network in Hong Kong and an independent department in the government's Broadcasting Authority.Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) is the public broadcasting service in Hong Kong. GOW, the predecessor to RTHK was established in 1928 as the first broadcasting service in Hong Kong. As a government department under the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Government, RTHK's educational, entertainment, and public affairs programmes are broadcast on its seven radio channels and three television channels, as well as commercial television channels.
Unlike other public broadcasters like the BBC and NHK, which are primarily funded by licence fees, RTHK is directly supported by an annual government funding.
